Lisa La Mantia grew up with an abundance of musical exposure in her childhood. At a young age Lisa was exposed to Opera, and began a brief study in piano as well as ballet. However Lisa's tomboyish and athletic nature compelled her to pursue sports particularly soccer. At age 16 however, Lisa found the perfect blend of artistic musicality and athletic physicality in Flamenco. Lisa began to peruse flamenco dance in Hamilton, Ontario, under the direction of Paola Moreno. In 1997 Lisa moved to Toronto and began to intensify her studies with acclaimed teacher Esmeralda Enrique. Over the past few years she has studied with flamenco artists such as Andres Marin, Soledad Barrio, Carmen Romero and La Choni. Lisa has traveled to Seville, Spain where she was able to further intensify her understanding and appreciation of flamenco as an art form. Lisa currently teaches at the Hamilton Conservatory of the Arts and performs at various venues in the GTA.
